Good review, although I don't think the drums sound too bad.. At least the drums weren't like Lars' on St. I just picked up Hell Awaits and this. I think these two are there finest moments. Note to manuscript: you've gotta edit all those symbols out. Looks like this review is another casualty of that vbulletin switch thing. Show No Mercy is such a good debut. I'll definetly pick this baby up.

Good review as well, but I wouldn't give this album a 5, I'd give more like a 3. Still killer. Paul Bostaph came in to replace Dave Lombardo. A fine drummer, but not quite in the same class, or with the same impact, as his predecessor. Essential Slayer. Arguably the very best debut in all of thrash. Run out and buy, put on your stereo and prepare to turn your fine dining room into a sludgy basement wasteland.

Despite acknowledging early on that the Satanism they sang about was a gimmick main songwriters King and Hanneman are both professed atheists and Araya is a practicing Catholic and the fact the both Araya and Lombardo are of hispanic origin, the band has often been accused of being Satanists and racists and have been a frequent target of parents and religious watchdog groups.
Shortly into the tour for that record, Lombardo left the group, citing financial concerns. Tony Scaglione of Whiplash 5 was recruited to replace Lombardo; however, this line-up was short-lived, as Lombardo returned in In , Lombardo left the group again due to friction with the other band members, particularly King.Buy Show No Mercy (CD) by Slayer (CD $).
